The Tennessee Titans opened their 2017 season with a commanding 48-3 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The win improves the Titans to 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in division play, while the Colts fall to 0-1.

Led by head coach Jose Wilson, the Titans delivered a balanced offensive attack that overwhelmed the Colts from the start. Quarterback Phillip Richardson completed 27 of 36 passes for 402 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception. Richardson distributed the ball effectively, connecting repeatedly with his top targets.

Running back William Bishop was a key contributor on the ground and through the air. Bishop rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown and added 63 receiving yards with two receiving touchdowns. Tight end William Schneider also had a notable performance with 187 receiving yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Robert Parker contributed 107 receiving yards and a touchdown, while fullback Richard Cook added a rushing touchdown and 14 receiving yards.

The Titans struck early in the first quarter with Bishop’s 49-yard rushing touchdown at 12:54, followed by a 49-yard touchdown reception from Richardson to Bishop shortly after. The team extended the lead with a field goal by kicker John Kerr at 5:57 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Bishop rushed into the end zone again, increasing Tennessee’s lead to 23-0, capped by another John Kerr extra point. The Colts managed a lone field goal by Don Wilkerson at 8:40 in the second quarter, but the Titans responded quickly before halftime with a Richardson touchdown pass to Richard Cook from seven yards out.

Phillip Richardson continued to put pressure on the Colts defense in the third quarter, throwing a 65-yard touchdown pass to Robert Parker. Defensive end Gerard Neuman contributed with two sacks, helping the Titans maintain control defensively.

Colts quarterback Brian Brown completed 24 of 38 passes for 151 yards but failed to find the end zone and threw one interception. The Colts struggled to generate offensive momentum, rushing for only 29 yards on 14 carries and failing to convert any third downs or score touchdowns in the red zone.

The Titans’ defense kept the Colts in check throughout, sacking Brown four times and forcing an interception. Both teams committed four penalties, with the Titans penalized 40 yards and the Colts 30.

With this decisive victory, the Titans position themselves well early in the season within the division, setting a strong tone under Jose Wilson’s leadership. Meanwhile, the Colts face the challenge of regrouping after a difficult opening week.
