NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans continued their dominant run in the 2016 season by defeating the Cleveland Browns 24-3 at Nissan Stadium on Sunday in Week 15 of the regular season. With this win, the Titans improve to 14-1 overall and remain undefeated in their division at 6-0, while solidifying their status as the top seed with homefield advantage in the playoffs.

The scoring opened in the first quarter when John Kerr nailed a 52-yard field goal with 2:28 left in the quarter, putting the Titans ahead 3-0. Tennessee extended their lead early in the second quarter on a 4-yard touchdown pass from Phillip Richardson to Robert Parker. Kerr’s extra point made it 10-0.

The Browns managed to get on the board shortly thereafter with a 28-yard field goal by Mark Borowski at 5:50 in the second, cutting the lead to 10-3. However, the Titans answered back before halftime with another touchdown pass from Richardson to Alan Anderson, who ran it in from 18 yards out. Kerr’s extra point pushed the lead to 17-3 heading into the break.

In the third quarter, the Titans built their advantage further when Richardson connected on a 2-yard touchdown pass to fullback Richard Cook. Following Kerr’s extra point, Tennessee was up 24-3, a lead they held for the rest of the game.

Phillip Richardson finished with 170 yards passing, completing 19 of 29 attempts with three touchdowns and one interception. William Bishop led the ground game with 161 rushing yards and 10 receiving yards on the day, contributing significantly to the Titans’ 243 total rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Richard Cook also punched in a rushing touchdown and added 26 receiving yards.

Defensively, the Titans generated five sacks and recorded one interception, holding the Browns to just one field goal. The Browns quarterback, Kyle Wilson, completed 19 of 34 passes for 141 yards but threw two interceptions. Cleveland rushed 16 times for 39 yards and failed to score a touchdown in the game.

The Browns’ defense forced two fumbles but were unable to capitalize beyond a field goal. Both teams struggled on third down conversions, with neither team converting any attempts during the game.

Titans head coach Jose Wilson now guides his team with a five-game winning streak, as Tennessee looks to carry this momentum into the postseason. Cleveland, with an 8-6-1 record, holds the third place in the division but is coming off a loss.

The Titans' disciplined play and balanced offensive attack marked the difference in this game while their defense effectively stifled the Browns’ efforts, keeping their playoff positioning secure as the regular season nears conclusion.
